How Much You Make Blogging Month 2

You have month number one under your belt and now you are working on month number two. Congrats! These are tough months for some individuals. Like I said in my “How Much You Make Blogging Month 1” article, this information you read here is something you will have difficulty finding out in the wild. My blog/ website that you landed on is very unique in the way that it is organized, coded, and scheduled. The dream of most bloggers is to make passive income doing what they want, writing about what they want, and creating content when they want to do it. So, just for fun, I decided that I would create a blog that reflected exactly that. If are curious in the content month to month follow this link. At the time of this posting there will be a calendar that can be interacted with. Check it out!

Month number two was exponentially interesting to me and I could see how a lot of people could have the same experience that I had. I was very consistent making blog posts with month number one. For the most part, I had a new post every day with a few exceptions. Now for month number two, I had significantly less time to work with. This was especially true with the Christmas season in the works. First and foremost, I am a book publisher. I have book publishing to do. This also really put this blog to the test. I was beginning to notice trends in the analytics data, as I was also becoming more and more confident in the way I posted information and pictures. Go through the history of my posting and you will visibly see this.

Now onto the question at hand. How much does one make blogging month number two? What if I was to tell you that I increased my profits from month number one to month number two by 1400%? Sounds pretty good right? That is exactly the mindset you need to have when looking at these numbers.

Remember how much I made from month number one? Get ready, here comes the big number! I made $2.47 from month number two, and I am still absolutely ecstatic about it. Yes, I know that it is a pretty large amount of cash. With that amount maybe I could go to the grocery store and pick up a soda. That is missing the point though. Remember, 1400% increase. There is some serious potential with percentage increases like that. As this blog grows in size, as does the traffic to it. We have no where to go but up. If you liked that, get ready for month number three! It might just blow your mind.

How Much Money You Make Blogging: Month 1

how-much-money-blogging-month-one-ghost

So there you are, wanting to start a blog. Congratulations! Boy, oh boy do I have a good article for you today. This article you read here is something you will have difficulty finding out in the wild. My blog/ website that you landed on is very unique in the way that it is organized, coded, and scheduled. The dream of most bloggers is to make passive income doing what they want, writing about what they want, and creating content when they want to do it. So, just for fun, I decided that I would create a blog that reflected exactly that.

My blog talks about my experiences in the book publishing world and the lessons that I have learned throughout. I write when I have time. I write about what’s on my mind for that day. I had no idea how to make a website when starting. I try to optimize my book publications with keywords, but not my blog. Literally everything you see around you on this site was from scratch with no knowledge on how to set it up. This sounds like how a lot of bloggers start, right? So the question rears it’s head. How much can you expect to make on month number one? Let me walk you through my experience.

Right away, I had no idea what I was doing. Heck, I still don’t, however, I was excited to be doing it. I wrote about tons of random stuff. There was financial advice, life advice, publisher advice, you name it! I had some views on the website, but not very many. Maybe, like, a handful a day? Traffic primarily came from my Twitter and Facebook pages which were also new at the time. There were very few organic searches for my content. For approximately 2/3rd’s of the month I watched my Google Adsense remain at $0.00. It makes sense though why the royalties were like that. Why would anyone want to spend money on a website that is obviously new with basically zero traffic. All of a sudden, it happened. I made $0.01!! I had never been so excited to make one cent in my life. I even tweeted about it with a screen shot (not too many were impressed, but heck, I was!). I was finally rolling in the cash. For the remaining third of the month I would average about one cent a day. Some days I would make like three cents, the other days I would make zero.

Also, If you are curious to see what my website looks like and pretty much has looked like since I started it follow this like here. That should explain the amount of posting and the number/ words used. Like seriously you should check it out for research reasons.

Are you ready for the grand total that you can expect to make month #1 knowing what you know about me now? Remember, this information is from my experience based on the criteria listed above. $0.17. That’s right let it soak it. If I had a dime, a nickle, and two pennies, I’d have exactly what I made for my first month of blogging.

Do not let this number get you down. I can assure you, I made more month #2 just doing the same thing. How much more? Click the link below to find out!

You Can Have Anything You Want With This One Skill

melting-face-one-skill-to-achieve-anything

I’m not going to lie, I’m kind of excited to work on a brand mascot. From the look of the vote, it appears that I will be putting together a possessed doll. Maybe the vote will change! Not sure what I am talking about? There is only a couple hours left of a Twitter poll here: Feel free to vote if the poll is still open!

Maybe right now you are asking yourself the question, “why in the world would a person want a brand mascot in the first place?” No worries my friend, I covered this when the poll was started! You can check out that article here.

In my head I have been assembling the mechanics of what a possessed doll would do. Rotating head, moving eyes, moving mouth, creepy head, possessed by an actual spirit. Well, maybe not that last one. That’d be too easy to make it move then! You know the drill. A quick search online reveals that if I was to buy something like this, it would cost me hundreds if not thousands of dollars. To be honest, I am not worried about that at all and here’s why. Remember that little article about being creative with your money? Here’s a reference to it: The Responsible Place to Get Money. Specifically the last tip in that article. All the mechanics of a complicated puppet like this should be available for pennies on the dollar at second hand shops and thrift stores everywhere (this sentence is humorous to me since it is very similar situation to my next book that gets published). Watch me as I put my money where my mouth is over the next couple weeks. It will be fun!

This leads to the point of the article. What’s one thing that you want or need? What would it take to learn the skill in order to create that item or idea? Would it be financially beneficial to you make it in the first place? These are all questions that one needs to ask themselves when looking at the world. I am becoming convinced that with the right mindset you can build, fix, or achieve almost anything. You’ll find that the more you learn, the more those skills bleed into other skills very much like the snowball effect. Business, finances, personal growth, engineering, needs, wants, you name it. Always be open to and learning new things. This is the skill you need. You might just be surprised at how it impacts other areas of your life as well.

Bad Investments- That Time We Purchased a Hot Tub

I would just like to take a second to appreciate all the good investments that I’ve made. No no, this is not another stock talk. The things like staying connected with my family and friends, switching jobs, and getting married to my beautiful wife. All these things pay dividends tenfold. I could go on and on all day long if you wanted me to, but that’s not why you are here now is it? On to the topic at hand. The bad investments. Boy oh boy, I’ve made some of these. I’ve learned some hard costly lessons. I still pay stupid tax from time to time, but that’s how we learn eh? I’m sure we all can relate to this on some level. Here’s a fun story of good ol ZHanny stupid tax. You know those cheap hot tubs that get sold everywhere? Well, it was that time of the year and for some reason we got just enough of a tax return to purchase our very own first cheap hot tub. Alas, after an expensive year we thought it wise to purchase an energy sucking demon. It came in the mail, we assembled it in the back yard, then filled it with water and chemicals. I’ll be the first to admit, the hot tub was pretty cool at first. As long as it was maintained correctly, things went smoothly. Finally Fall came around. I vividly remember sitting in the hot tub watching the leaves fall with my wife in the back yard. It was right there that we mutually agreed on how cool it would be to sit in the hot tub and watch the snow fall. That right there, my friends, was the start of my electricity bill prison sentence.

That winter was cold. Very cold. Like the kind where every day was below zero. There was literally never a day where I could drain the thing due to the effects of fast freezing tubes. I had to let it run or I would have one giant impossible block of ice to deal with. We did not even want to use it since we had to run through the snow, ice , and wind in swimming suits. The hot tub had it’s hands around my neck and it enjoyed to spank every chance it got. This was especially true when the bills came in the mail. Before my electricity bill was a nice, quaint, reasonable amount. Now it was doubled and sometimes tripled! Not only was I heating the unit, I was also passively heating the cement block under it. The snow would fall, yet all around the hot tub would be melted. Sorry, I get kind of worked up talking about it. I’ll try wrapping up the story for you. At the end of of the winter, hundreds upon hundreds of dollars had been thrown at that thing. What a relief it was to get rid of the tub. Lesson learned. There are many purchases out there like this. Those bad investments that are looking for the next victim. Look at some of the software we download with all the strings attached. Maybe look at the bills and enjoy the list of forgotten recurring payments. Have you owned Sears stock the last couple years? With all those things, Winter certainly came. Ouch. Should have I known better? Yeah, probably. However, now I refer to bad investments as “hot tubs” with my wife from time to time. I have flash backs of events like this story when looking through investment options. Pro tip to you. Don’t just look at what your buying or signing up for. Look at the future and potential. What’s the worst case scenario with what your getting into? Are you ready for it? This aspect creeps into everything. Your business, your property, your transport, your relationships, everything. Keep your eyes peeled for the hot tubs in your life. They’ll sneak up and get ya!

Where is The Responsible Place to Get Money for Your Start Up Business?

Once upon a time, ZHanny wanted to start his own business. Alas, he did not have the money needed at first to do what he desired most. All the other start ups around him had the same problem. The motivation for each of them was very similar. The start ups wanted to give back to the world and maybe make passive income one day. Every one of them had great ideas, yet one by one all the other start ups started disappearing like coins dropping into a dark well. “Where did everyone go??” Exclaimed ZHanny with sadness in his eyes. Yet none responded to his calls yelled out into the abyss. ZHanny then trudged on all alone into the sunset with plenty of money still in his pockets from not following the crowd and making a battle plan before rushing in.

(Sorry, I needed to get some creative writing in for the day)

All these businesses and individuals gave up hope very quickly after running out of money, being intimidated by the process, or burying themselves eyeball deep in debt. So what does one do to resolve this problem? Here’s the  three cornerstone ways that I kept my head above the water.

Ready for the biggest one? I have been significantly living below my means. This is not something that just started either. Living below my means has been going on since I graduated college many a years ago. Heck, I am still driving a beater car that I fixed up myself. This method is a sure fire way to, slowly but surely, build wealth for the things that you wish to accomplish.

Did it stop there? No no no my dear friend. The next step for me was to sell my extra possessions. We all have those items in the corner of the room or packed away in boxes that just gather dust. Here’s several examples of thing that I sold to gather a little extra cash. I sold my PS2, my old Super Nintendo, my GMC truck that just sat in the driveway, a ton of video games. You get the idea. Those where things that I got rid of, I’m sure you can think of several things in your life that you do not need anymore. The third and final way is something that could be it’s own post. Maybe in the future I’ll go into more detail about it.

Be creative in the way you spend your money. This requires a little more explanation complete with an example. Remember all those other businesses that were in the fairy tale? They went out and bought brand new items. Here’s a good example of this. A brand new computer desk we’ll say costs anywhere from a hundred to thousands of dollars. The best desk I own is one that I found for five dollars at a second hand store. I saw it, and immediately saw potential. It was obvious from it’s appearance that it was an artist’s table covered in layers upon layers of paint. The table however was solid wood with a great design. I brought it back to my home and spent a day delicately sanding, staining, and painting it. Now it’s looks better than brand new and is a highlight of my office. This is just one example, but the principle spreads into anything that you decide to spend money on.

To wrap this all up, make a plan for your money and be creative in how you use it. Think outside the box. Sometimes you need to swim against the current to achieve where you want to go.
