Maybe the eloquent nature of my writing has tricked you into believing that I am an experienced blogger (probably not). You would be incorrect about the experienced part. Blogging is something brand new that I am attempting to master. I had no website building experience, no previous blogging experience, and no real social media presence. All you see you here is relatively new. If there’s one thing that I know about myself, it’s that I do my best when thrown directly into the crucible. Learning by doing is the fastest way for me to know if I’ll like something or not. Something fun about myself is that I’ll commit to something that has a set time frame, just for the fun of it. This, in turn, forces me to learn how to do things just that much faster. I need a new alternator in my car? I’ll have it done by Tuesday. The water heater is leaking? I’ll take care of it over the weekend. You need heart surgery? Eh, that’s pushing it a little too far but you get the idea. I personally grow the most when forced into a position where I have no other choice but to problem solve. I fully realize not everybody is like this. Some people have different methods and I can respect that. The added stress that a constricted time frame and difficult situation can be taxing. Sometimes a bolt won’t come loose on the alternator. Sometimes the pressure relief valve won’t stay closed. Sometimes an artery won’t stop bleeding. Okay, two of those examples are real (or maybe all three). What I am trying to get at is that if you want to quickly learn something, the best way, in my experience, is to just start doing it. Learn what step number one is and just go. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Put your best foot forward. Life’s too short not to try.
